What Residents Say About Senior Life Programs
“I am grateful that my husband John and I were able to join Bluegrass Assisted Living at that time we both needed lots of care. John, with dementia, first arrived here renting a studio apartment on the secured Alzheimers Care Enrichment/Memory Care unit. He had lost much weight at home and had no interest in life. Now with the help of staff assisting, John is taking his daily routine medications and with the loving care of the Bluegrass staff, his condition has improved remarkably. For a while, he refused to exercise and converse with other residents. Today, he has gained weight and is maintaining well. He attends Bible studies, church services, entertainment programs and many other events that take place here at Bluegrass. He greatly enjoys visits with his friends and family. Everyone who has seen him is amazed with his progress.
“I, as well, rented a studio apartment on the Assisted Living unit. With Parkinson’s Disease, I have received encouragement from the staff at Bluegrass to continue doing activities that i had enjoyed such as playing the piano. Music is a major part of my life. I spent several years as an avid member of the Stephen Foster Music Club. I have continued to teach music from my apartment here at Bluegrass Assisted Living and presently have students receiving lessons.
“The employees are very kind and understanding. They are always willing to help in every way possible, however the staff greatly encourages each client to continue with being independent and active. The Bible studies and church services remind us that He loves us and still has special plans for each life here. Playing for services and programs have not only been good exercise for my fingers, but I am still able to serve Him through music.
“The building is kept clean and is beautiful with pictures and decorations. All holidays are observed with special dinners and programs. Each resident is recognized on his or her birthday with a cake and ‘Happy Birthday’ song. Throughout the week, there are other planned activities such as bingo, crafts, movies, and many others. With all this, I feel very fortunate to be living at Bluegrass Assisted Living.”
